HELPING WITH ALLERGIES AND HEY FEVER WITH HYPNOTHERAPY
First I would like to say that although I can help people with this that this wont make the symptoms of the allergies or hay fever completely go away – that, that it can make them so much more bareable. Also because some of the negative symptoms can hold people back physically, emotionally and in terms of production of getting things done – that, that if you were to be able to get on with the stuff you need and want to do, then wouldn’t that help?
If so and if you would maybe just like to be able to get on with things and get on with your life; then I may well be able to help you with this.
It is believed that many allergic reactions are the result of past traumatic experiences and repressed emotions. Hypnotherapist Dave Elman believed that many allergic reactions are the result of past traumatic experiences and repressed emotion. Elman believed that where a patient suddenly begins to have a strong allergic reaction which previously did not occur, the allergy has probably always been present, and that only the reaction to it has changed, and that the severe reaction is precipitated by an emotional problem.
“Since the allergies have always been present and probably always will be, all that can be done in the light of present knowledge is to correct their effect. To my knowledge, no way has been found to cure an allergy; when we remove the reaction, we haven’t caused allergen-sensitivity to disappear.” – Dave Elman – Hypnotherapy, 1964, Westwood Publishing Co.
Before treating allergies with hypnotherapy it is essential that you first see your doctor before commencing with a course of hypnotherapy, you must obtain a correct medical diagnoses. Not all allergies are suitable to be treated and there are dietary and alternative approaches to the treatment of allergies. The new range of non-sedative antihistamine drugs are highly effective.
It is estimated that in the UK around one in four people suffer from an allergy at some time in their lives, and recent research shows that numbers are increasing. The reason for this growth is not fully understood, but there is compelling evidence suggesting links to our increased exposure to chemicals and pollutants (including cigarette smoke), changes in diet, increased attention to hygiene and an increased use of antibiotics.
A simple definitions of an allergy is a response within the body, to a substance, which is not necessarily harmful in itself, but results in an immune response and a causes and disease in a predisposed person, which in turn can cause inconvenience, or a great deal of misery. Allergy UK
It is possible to be allergic to substance without knowing, or experiencing any noticeable effects and with some people this could have been for many years. It usually only becomes a problem when the reaction becomes pronounced. Allergic reactions range from mild to severe. Mild reactions may include nasal congestion and blockage, itching and sneezing, skin rash, and watery discharge from the nose and eyes. More severe reactions may occur very rapidly and result in difficulty breathing and low blood pressure. This type of reaction should be treated as an emergency and immediate medical attention should be obtained.
Some Common and Typical Symptoms
Hay fever signs and symptoms can include:
- Runny nose and nasal congestion
- Watery, itchy, red eyes (allergic conjunctivitis)
- Itchy nose, roof of mouth or throat
- Swollen, blue-colored skin under the eyes (allergic shiners)
- Postnasal drip
Your hay fever signs and symptoms may start or worsen at a particular time of year. Triggers include:
- Tree pollen, which is common in early spring.
- Grass pollen, which is common in late spring and summer.
- Ragweed pollen, which is common in fall.
- Dust mites, cockroaches and dander from pets can be bothersome year-round (perennial). Symptoms caused by dander might worsen in winter, when houses are closed up.
- Spores from indoor and outdoor fungi and molds are considered both seasonal and perennial.
