HYPNOTHERAPY AND A FEAR AND PHOBIA OF WASPS AND BEES

A fear of bees and wasps is very common and affects people to varying degrees – however when it gets to the point where you may run from a room or flee a situation rapidly, screaming and shouting then this can will become a problem.

Fear of bees or Apiphobia; and the fear of wasps or Spheksophobia is basically a fear of being stung or potentially being stung. This will usually go back to a situation, a memory in the past where you will have had a negative experience with a bee or more likely a wasp when someone (and more than likely someone else) was stung by a wasp or bee. It can be that when you were a child you experienced an adult(s) panicking and from a young and impressionable age you by that experience(s) now have a phobia.

Many people also dislike the look of wasps and its colouring or they fixate on the fact that a wasp has the ability to sting more than once, and then bees just get attached to this fear, phobia and fixation.

Basically as this is a learned response you can effectively unlearn it and with my help using hypnotherapy and NLP we can together change the way in which you react, act, respond, think and feel about bees and wasps. The most likely new response I would expect, and from my experience is that you will be much calmer and reactions will be different in that you can stand to be around them and therefore overcome your fear of wasps and bees.

What is a phobia?

A phobia is a persistent, irrational fear of, and a desire to avoid, certain object/s, animals, events or situations. It is considered by mainstream psychology that the only 2 fears that we are all born with are of sudden loud noises and of height, any fear of heights is actually a fear of falling.

Other people consider that you are not born with a phobia – and that it’s a learned response. A learned response which has by situations in the past, of which almost always have a root cause, which you then react to when confronted by the phobic stimulus. With phobias even the anticipation, of thoughts or by thinking of the situation will often be enough to provoke the reaction. The person will then experience feelings, reaction and responses of anxiety, fear, panic and panic attacks.

Using hypnotherapy, NLP, positive psychology and EFT Matthew can re-programme your thoughts, change your associations and replace them with new, more appropriate feelings, reaction, behaviours, emotions and thoughts and in this case to overcome your fear of wasps and bees.
